I obviously made it too easy for the squirrels who have been nicking the bird food – so am off to take a course in design, architecture and engineering!

Last spring I thought I’d do something nice for the bird and put up three different feeders that I really thought were in places our squirrels would either not look or get to.I came home from work the same day and all three had been pulled down, their contents scattered and a whole square kilomoter’s worth of scrounging squirrels were greedily devouring the last remnants.Perhaps one of your architectural colleagues, like your fellow Brookie Richard, could come up with a dsign and we could debate it at autumn conference!
There is an answer to this. Feed the squirrels from a proper squirrel feeder…. see link:http://www.haiths.com/product-Squirrel-Feeder-bfwwsqfdr/I have done this and once they find their own feeder they leave the bird food alone!
