Gordon is happy! And I don’t want to rain on his parade – at least for a day or two. However, from the look on his face, I kind of felt that the drama of Harriet’s startling victory (a drama helped both by its closeness – and also by Sky merrily reporting the wrong result in advance) was regarded as raining on his parade.
The image of a man / woman team is a good one for Labour. The only down side is that Gordon and Harriet are both a bit hard-going and substance based. Now – I think substance is good – but it is quite helpful if one of them had substance masked with charm. Clearly Gordon has recognised this and been working hard at his Charms lessons (not the same Charms as in Harry Potter)! So – off we go to new challenges, challenged challengingly by the challenge of challenging changes and challenging times!
Today i was nearly moved to tears viewing Mr Blair departing from the House of Commons after Prime Minister’s questions. He has finally stepped down from Prime Ministership. To begin, we as a country should thank Mr Blair for his contributions and efforts over ten years of public service. Yes, fair enough, I disagreed with the Prime Minister on very many issues, however, he did a great job for the country. The Prime Minister will be remembered by me for unveiling a youth support service that worked directly with young people. This organisation was setup and designed to guide and support young people through their teenage years in their transition to adulthood and working life. It is indeed the Connexions service. The service has successfully assisted in improving life chances to so many young people in North London specifically, but this is probably accurate in many parts of our country. There are soo many other issues.I wish our former Prime Minister the best of luck with his future endeavours. ThanksMash
